Free MN now – stop deportation!

M.N.’ is a woman detained in Yarl’s Wood IRC who is medically unfit for detention, and a survivor of violently forced FGM and rape in Kenya. She is suffering from the psychological effects of trauma in Kenya and detention.

She is due to fly OCTOBER 4th 8PM from London Heathrow to Nairobi.

  • She has been denied the kind of medical examination that would prove her status as a survivor of FGM because the doctor ‘wasn’t qualified’ for it!
  • Her medical records demonstrate she has a strong case for being medically unfit for detention but her ‘Rule 35’ report contradicts itself and concluded she should remain in detention. This is a miscarriage of justice.

Instead of helping her and providing witness protection against the well-connected violent sect that has traumatised her, the Home Office is trying to send ‘M.N.’ from where she fled.

Re: Flight KQ101 on 04/10/2015 20:00
Forced removal of MN

“M.N” is due to be forcibly removed by the UK Home Office from London Heathrow to Nairobi on 4th October 2015 (KQ101)

“M.N” (Home office reference number: N1146439) is being flown to Nairobi against her will. She is medically unfit for detention, and a survivor of violently forced FGM and rape in Kenya. She is suffering from the psychological effects of trauma in Kenya and detention.

If she goes back she is at risk of further torture and death.

Instead of helping her and providing witness protection against the well-connected violent sect that has traumatised her, the Home Office is trying to send ‘M.N.’ to the people who abused her.

I respectfully request that Kenya Airways does not take this woman onboard this flight. I am very worried for M’s safety on the flight and after landing, for the safety and comfort of other passengers, and for the reputation of Kenyan Airways

If she is taken onboard, I would request that you inform the appropriate medical officer, as many removals result in injuries sustained from force used by the security guards. In one recent case, a man being deported on a British Airways flight died from injuries while being restrained by security guards.

I ask Kenya airways to look to you conscience, and refuse to take part in this injustice. MN must be allowed to put her case to the UK immigration courts, to claim her legal right to sanctuary.

You can play a part in right a wrong, and granting sanctuary to this woman.

Yours faithfully,
